A placement bid adjustment raises your base bid by a set percentage for a specific placement, up to 900 percent.
Inside a campaign you add a percentage increase for top of search or for product pages, and Amazon multiplies your base bid on auctions for that slot. It is an increase only; you cannot bid a placement down this way.
Your base bid is set, and top of search converts twice as well for you. You apply a top-of-search adjustment, so your effective bid on that slot rises by that percentage while the other placements keep the base bid.
Adjustments stack with dynamic bidding. A placement increase and up-and-down bidding compound on the same auction, so an aggressive pair can push one click far above your base bid; check the multiplied number, not the base.
Pay up only where the slot earns it.
