Standard Reports

In one linePrebuilt GA4 report library for quick overviews.

Standard Reports are the prebuilt, menu-driven report library in GA4 that gives you fixed overviews of acquisition, engagement, monetization, and retention without any setup.

You open them from the Reports section in the left nav. Each one is a preformatted table with a summary card on top and a fixed set of dimensions and metrics. You can change the date range, add a comparison, and swap the primary dimension, but the layout is locked. They load fast because the shape of the data is decided in advance.

You want to know which channels drove traffic last month, so you open Reports, go to Acquisition, and pull up Traffic acquisition. The default breakdown is by session default channel group, and you switch the primary dimension to session source / medium to see it at the campaign level. No building required.

Standard Reports are for monitoring, not investigation. The moment you need to combine dimensions the report does not offer, or ask a question it was not designed to answer, you hit a wall. That is when you move to Explorations. People treat the fixed reports as the whole product and never learn the part where the real analysis happens.

Fine for the dashboard glance. Useless the second the question gets specific.
