Meta App Promotion

Meta App Promotion is Meta's app-promotion campaign type, run through the App Promotion objective and Advantage+ app campaigns, for driving installs and in-app events across Facebook and Instagram.

You want installs, or better still, people who install and then actually do something valuable inside your app, and you want to reach them on Facebook and Instagram. Meta App Promotion is the objective built for exactly that. You point it at your app, connect your events through Meta's SDK or a measurement partner, and choose whether you are optimizing for the install itself or for a deeper event like a purchase or a registration. Advantage+ app campaigns then lean on Meta's automation to find the people most likely to take that action.

You will recognize a lot of the machinery from your web campaigns, the objective picker, the creative testing, the optimization events. What changes is how clearly you can see the results, and that change is not small.

The hard part is measurement on iOS. For Apple devices, your results flow back through SKAdNetwork and Meta's Aggregated Event Measurement, not through the near real-time, user-level reporting you get on the web. That means the numbers come back to you delayed and coarse, batched and modeled rather than crisp and immediate. You cannot always tie a specific install to a specific ad the way you instinctively want to, so you judge these campaigns on a slower, blurrier scoreboard and make peace with waiting longer to know whether something worked.

Same objective muscles you already have, but read the iOS numbers with patience and a wide margin.
