The Conversions API is LinkedIn's server-side channel for sending conversion events directly from your systems instead of relying only on the browser tag.
You send events from your server or CRM to LinkedIn, so conversions that the Insight Tag misses because of blockers or lost cookies still get reported. You can run it alongside the tag, and LinkedIn deduplicates events that arrive from both paths so a single conversion is not counted twice.
A company pushes qualified-lead events straight from its CRM through the Conversions API, capturing conversions from visitors whose browsers blocked the Insight Tag and feeding LinkedIn cleaner optimization signal.
Server-side does not fix bad data. The Conversions API only reports what your systems send, so wrong event definitions, missing match keys, or duplicate logic produce confidently wrong numbers, and poor identity matching means LinkedIn cannot tie your server events back to members.
A cleaner pipe still only carries what you put in it.
