Website Conversions is a Conversions-stage objective that optimizes for specific actions people take on your own site.
You define the conversion, a demo request, a signup, a purchase, and LinkedIn optimizes delivery toward members likely to complete it. It relies on your tracking, the Insight Tag or the Conversions API, to know when a conversion happened and feed that back into the auction.
A B2B tool sets a completed-signup conversion, and over a couple of weeks LinkedIn shifts spend toward the segments actually finishing signup rather than the ones merely clicking. Cost per click may rise while cost per signup falls.
The optimization is only as good as the signal you send. If the Insight Tag is missing, the conversion is defined loosely, or volume is too low for LinkedIn to learn from, the objective has nothing to optimize against and drifts. Server-side signal through the Conversions API is what keeps it accurate as browser tracking degrades.
No clean conversion signal, no conversion optimization.
