A quiz ad is an interactive format that asks the user two or three questions and shows a tailored result based on their answers.
You write the questions, the answer options, and the result screens. The user taps through the questions inside the ad, and Pinterest routes them to one of a few result cards, each with its own image, headline, and description, then to a landing page. It is the rare ad unit where the person does something before they click, which is why the click that follows tends to be a warmer one.
A skincare brand asks skin type, main concern, and routine length, then returns a three-product result set matched to the answers, sending oily-skin acne users to a different page than dry-skin users.
The result has to actually change with the answers. People build a quiz that funnels every path to the same page, which the user notices immediately. If the payoff does not reflect what they told you, the interaction was theater, and you have spent the extra effort for nothing.
If every answer ends the same place, it was never a quiz.
