A Video ad is an in-feed Reddit placement where a video plays as the reader scrolls to it.
You upload the video and it autoplays muted in the feed, so the opening seconds and any on-screen text do the work before sound is ever on. It can run from a few seconds to several minutes, and it carries the same post shell, voting, comments, and a destination link below the frame. You are billed on impressions, clicks, or views depending on how you set the campaign.
You sell a standing desk. The video opens on the desk rising with a caption baked into the frame, holds on the cable tray for two seconds, and ends on a price card. Because it played muted, the caption carried the message, and the reader who tapped for sound was already interested.
Muted autoplay decides the outcome, not your voiceover. If your point only lands with sound on, most of the feed never gets it. Burn the message into the first few frames as text and treat audio as a bonus for the few who turn it on.
Assume silence. Design for it.
